Endottt Man sentenced to 10 years in state prison for drug crimes

ENDICOTT, NY (WBNG) – On Monday, the District Prosecutor of the county of Broome Paul Battisti announced that an Endicott man was sentenced to 10 years of state prison.

According to the District Prosecutor’s Office, Enricott’s Phillip Alvarez III declared himself guilty of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon.

The officials declared, as part of his plea bargain, Alvarez would have served 10 years in state prison for the accusation of drugs and seven years for the charge of weapons, both with five years of post-Rilacio supervision. The sentences work simultaneously.

Furthermore, as part of his reason for guilt, Alvarez gave up $ 5,566 in drug proceeds.

On July 24, 2024, the Office said that the Task Force of the Special Investigation Unit of the County of Broome performed a research mandate at 341 Main St. in Endicott. During the research, investigators localized the US currency, ammunition, a loaded gauge .22 loaded, 148.83 grams of cocaine, a charge and digital stairs gun.

“Illegal firearms and dangerous narcotics have not placed in our community,” said the district prosecutor Battisti. “The succession of success of this case is the direct result of the hard work by the police and public ministries involved in his case. Our office remains committed to ensuring that those who threaten public security are held responsible.”

Senior District Prosecutor Joseph Nieto pursued the case for the office of the District Prosecutor of the Broome County.
