PUTRAJAYA, March 21 – A worker who declared himself guilty of having raped an official twice and of illegally entering his house was sentenced to 33 years in prison and 20 rod shots.

The Court of Appeal, in a decision issued today by a bench of three members guided by justice Datuk Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim, rejected the appeal of ha

The judge Ahmad Zaidi has established that the crimes were committed separately and, therefore, the sentences must be discounted consecutively.

“You are lucky that the accusation has not presented a cross -appeal, since the maximum penalty for the crime is higher. The facts show that the crime was committed during the month of fasting and that your actions were cruel,” he said in supporting the prison and flag imposed by the Court of the sessions and established by the high court.

The bench, which included the judges Datuk Azman Abdullah and Datuk Noorin Badaruddin, also confirmed the order of the court of sessions that Hassan received 20 strokes of the stick.

Hassan had tried to run the sentences for his rape offenses simultaneously, which would have reduced his total captivity to 20 years.

However, he did not appeal to the three -year sentence imposed on having transgressed the victim’s apartment.

On August 16, 2023, Hassan, 44, declared himself guilty before the court of sessions with two accusations of raping a 40 -year -old woman in Government Housing of Ipoh, Perak.

The first rape occurred between 22.00 on April 17, 2023 and the 1.47 of the following day, while the second infringement took place between 5.30 and 6.30 on April 18, 2023, in the same position.

The court of sessions sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment and 10 rod shots for the first accusation and 10 years with 10 rod shots for the second.

The court then ordered him to serve the sentence 10 years after the completion of the 20 -year period.

For the crime of transgression, the Court of sessions sentenced Hassan to three years of imprisonment, to be served consecutively after completing its sentences for the sentences for rape. His appeal against the sentences in prison was rejected by the high court on May 14, 2024.

During today’s procedure, the Deputy Prosecutor of the public Afzainizam Abdul Aziz urged the court to support the phrases imposed by the Court of sessions, describing the crime as particularly atrocious, given that the applicant had previously entered the victim’s house to install a toilet.

He said that on the day of the accident, the applicant broke into the victim’s house, hid in a wardrobe for the bedroom and later he kept a knife around his neck, threatening to kill her.

Meanwhile, Hassan’s lawyer, the Kccasan of the Teluk Incan National Legal Aid Foundation, appealed for the two r rape phrases to run simultaneously. – Bernama
