Ruth Stacy Amondi was not shy of expressing his vulnerability and pouring the pain of running a child with autism alone.

The mother of two children was emotional when she remembered the demanding experience and the journey of the struggle to ensure that her son with autism met her milestones.

Talking to Tuko.co.keAmondi shared when his son was born, he did not come out before with his head but do.

“I think it is what led to the complications and all these problems. I realized that something was wrong with my son when he reached three years and was not talking not to use the potty. I brought him to the hospital and I told her that perhaps he had delayed the speech and that he would go well. When he was four years old, he told me, I could not wait.

Because Amondi didn’t work

Amondi needed money to bring his son for therapies and perhaps enroll him in a school to help him.

He did not work because his husband always quarreled with her every time he worked, forcing her to leave her job.

“It was a struggle because instead of providing at home, he was seeing money for his chicks. I could see his M-PESA messages so that it was not as if it were not financially incapable. For him to provide, he had to be pushed. Sometimes I went to the head to report him so that he could fulfill his duties. He was so busy spending his money with his chicks while his house was cultivated.

Amondi tried to secure JobsBut he only worked for a while before he was forced to resign for the good of his healthcare and his son.

Amondi asks the school directors, teachers to bring their child with autism

She was forced to stop taking her son for therapies because her husband was not consistent in providing.

“I had enrolled in my son in a school, but the taxes accrued to the extent that he could not go back. He was retrogating and his situation was worsening. His progress was based on me, but I was not unemployed. I would have borrowed money from my family, but I didn’t like it.

Amondi was unable to hold back the tears by telling the number of times in which he implored the directors and teachers to take his son and let him learn but refused.

Not even schools with special needs could welcome the boy since his situation had drastically regressed that most had given up hope on him, but not his mother.
